                INTER-LIBRARY LOAN

 

Inter-library Loan is a method of obtaining and sharing resources among libraries to supplement the local collection.  Certain types of materials do not normally circulate on inter-library loan (best sellers, periodicals, journals, newspapers, genealogy, reference books, rare books, and special collections).  Anyone with a current library card in good standing is eligible for inter-library loan.  There is currently, no charge for inter-library loans (except for overdue charges  of 50 cents per day, and copying charges).  The average turn around time is two weeks, depending on where we borrow the material. 

If you would like to request an inter-library loan first check the library catalog and make sure we do not own the material, check by title and by author.   If it is not listed in our catalog, fill out the form below with as much information as possible (complete information speeds the process).  Requests will not be accepted if you do not have a library card.

The Graves County Public Library does not charge postage on Inter-library Loans, however, if the lending library charges to loan or photocopy materials, that charge is passed on to the person requesting the materials.  Please put a zero in the amount field if you do not want to pay any charge or put the amount you would be willing to pay.  The person making the request is responsible for the material received and will be responsible for replacement cost if the material is lost or damaged, or if kept overdue.
